The AFS Global STEM Academies are international learning experiences that combine a 12-week virtual curriculum with a four-week in-person experience. 2. Age Requirements: Applicants must be 15–18 years old at the program start date (born between September 1, 2007, and April 1, 2010).
3. Language Proficiency: The program is conducted entirely in English. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to participate fully in both the online and in-person components.
4. Willingness to Travel: Applicants must be able and willing to travel abroad, unaccompanied, to one of the four Academy destinations: Brazil, China, Egypt, or India. Although you can rank your destination preferences, AFS will assign the final destination.
5. Access to Technology: To participate in the virtual portion of the program, applicants must have access to:
- A computer, smartphone, or other digital device.
- An integrated webcam and microphone for online discussions.
- A stable internet or Wi-Fi connection.
